SEO and AI Search for Small Businesses

If you want small business SEO in Toronto, here is the short version. It is a monthly plan at $499 a month, and I run it myself. It covers keyword research, on-page and technical fixes, Google Business Profile help, the structure AI tools read, and a report every month from Google Analytics and Search Console. Weekly blog posts are an optional extra.

What you get each month

SEO Growth is a monthly plan. Here is what is in it.

  • 01

    Keyword research and tracking.

We find the phrases your customers actually type, then keep an eye on how you show up for them.

  • 02

    On-page and technical fixes.

Titles, descriptions, headings, speed, links and the behind-the-scenes setup Google reads.

  • 03

    Google Business Profile help.

Your listing set up properly and kept right.

  • 04

    Structure for AI search.

Clear answers, structured data and an llms.txt file, so tools like ChatGPT can read your site.

  • 05

    A monthly report.

A short email from Google Analytics and Search Console, in plain English.

  • 06

    Weekly blog posts (optional).

New articles written and published for you, if you want them. Skip them and the rest still works.

How we get you found on Google

This is the SEO half. Plain version: help Google understand what you do and where, and give people a good reason to pick you.

  1. 01

Keyword research for your actual customers

Nobody searches for "premier solutions provider". They search "emergency plumber Mississauga" or "dentist near me open Saturday". We work out the phrases real customers in your part of the GTA use, pick the ones worth going after, and build the plan around them.

  2. 02

    On-page and technical fixes

Page titles, descriptions, headings, internal links, image sizes, page speed, your sitemap and the structured data that tells Google what each page is. These are the unglamorous fixes that decide whether a good page gets read properly. We make them for you, so you do not have to learn what a canonical tag is.

  3. 03

    Content that answers real questions

If you add blog posts, each one answers a question a customer really asks, and links back to the page that does the selling. See two examples: how AI tools pick which businesses to recommend and a Google Business Profile checklist for Toronto small businesses. Posts are optional. Plenty of businesses are better served by fixing the site first.

  4. 04

    Google Business Profile

For local businesses, your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a customer sees. We help you set it up properly, then keep the details, categories, services and photos in good shape. You (or someone you give access to) make the final changes to the profile itself. We tell you exactly what to change and why. Our checklist shows what we look at.

How we get you found in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews

AI search optimization (also called GEO or answer engine optimization) means making your site easy for AI tools to read and quote. It improves your odds of being mentioned.

  • 01

    Clear answers near the top.

Each page opens with a direct answer to the question it covers, because that is the part AI tools lift.

  • 02

    Plain-language FAQs.

    Real questions, short honest answers.

  • 03

    Structured data.

A hidden layer of labels (called JSON-LD) that tells machines who you are, what you offer and where.

  • 04

    An llms.txt file.

A short guide to your site written for AI tools.

  • 05

    The same details everywhere.

Your name, address, phone and hours should match on your site, your Google profile and anywhere else you are listed.

  • 06

    Mentions on other trustworthy sites.

AI tools lean on what others say about you. We point out where it is worth being listed.

AI tools make their own decisions, and nobody controls who they recommend. What we can do is make sure that if they go looking, your site is easy to understand and worth quoting. For the longer story, read how AI picks businesses.

Your monthly report

Once a month, we email you a short report built from Google Analytics and Search Console. It is written for a business owner, not an analyst. It covers:

  • How many people visited your site
  • The searches you showed up for
  • What we did this month
  • What we plan to do next

Some months will look good. Some will be flat. The report says which, either way.

Sample report. Example layout with made-up numbers, not a real client's results.

Who this is for (and who it is not)

For you if:

  • You run a local or service business in Toronto or the GTA (or work with clients remotely).
  • Your site is live and loads fast enough to work with.
  • You are fine waiting a few months to see movement.

Probably not for you if:

  • You do not have a website yet. Start with a new site, SEO is built in from day one.
  • Your site is slow and dated and needs rebuilding first. A redesign is the better place to start, and it keeps the SEO you have already earned.
Every plan starts with a short look at your site, so we both know where you stand before anything is paid for.

How it works

  1. 01

A short look at your site.

We check the site and Search Console and tell you where you stand.

  2. 02

    Your keyword and fix list.

A plain list of what to target and what to fix, for your business.

  3. 03

    Fixes go live.

On-page and technical changes, your Google Business Profile, and the AI search structure.

  4. 04

Content each week, if you want it.

Optional blog posts, written and published for you.

  5. 05

Monthly report, then next month’s plan.

You see what happened and what comes next.

What it costs

$499a month

SEO Growth is $499 a month, in Canadian dollars. It is optional, and your site stays online and hosting stays free if you never take it. The price covers the monthly work listed on this page. If you want more than that, I quote it first, in writing.

Honest expectations

SEO is slow. Expect months, not weeks, and how long depends on how crowded your market is. Here is where we stand.

  • We do not guarantee rankings, traffic, leads or AI mentions. Nobody can.

  • We control our own work: the fixes, the content, your profile and your site.

  • We do not control: Google’s algorithm, your competitors, or which businesses an AI tool recommends.

  • The rules keep changing. We adjust as Google and AI tools do.

  • We report what happened. Good or flat.

For a sense of what this work can do: Parchmore Dental, a UK practice, had a site that brought no leads. Since our redesign and SEO setup it gets about 10 new patient enquiries a week. Those are that practice's results since relaunch.

Frequently asked questions

More answers on the blog.

  • Usually months, not weeks. A narrow local search can move sooner than a crowded one, but it depends on your competition and where your site starts. We will not quote you a number of weeks, because it would be a guess.

  • It means making your site easy for tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews to read and quote. That comes down to clear answers near the top of each page, structured data, an llms.txt file and details that match everywhere. It improves the odds that you get mentioned.

  • It is $499 a month. You get keyword research and tracking, on-page and technical fixes, Google Business Profile help, the structure AI tools read, and a short monthly report. Weekly blog posts are an optional extra. See the pricing page for the current details.

  • No. They are optional. The fixes, profile help, AI structure and monthly report work on their own, and you can add posts whenever you want them.

  • SEO is built into every site I make, and SEO Growth is designed around those sites. If someone else built yours, send me the link and I will tell you honestly whether I can help. Sometimes the better answer is a redesign.

  • A short report by email, built from Google Analytics and Search Console. It shows how many people visited, what searches you appeared for, what we did that month and what comes next. We send it ourselves, so you do not need to log in to anything.

  • We help set it up and keep it right, and we tell you exactly what to change. The final changes to the profile are made by you, or by us with access you give us.
